School Meals

During Hybrid instruction, school must be pre-ordered for asynchronous days or while students are participating in our district Online Academy.  Here is the link to preorder school meals:  SCCS pre-order meal link.  Students will order school meals on in person instruction days in class.

Students may purchase lunch, including milk, daily in the cafeteria at a cost of $3.25. Breakfast is served during the morning recess for $2.00. Milk may also be purchased separately in the lunch line.

Applications for free or reduced price lunches are available in the office. Applications are processed based on guidelines for family size and income levels established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Santa Cruz City Schools works to provide healthier meals that meet federal guidelines and are enjoyed by students. Our own Surf City Cafe prepares fresh nutritious food using local ingredients whenever possible. All menus are analyzed to ensure compliance with dietary guidelines. School lunch is designed to provide 1/3 of a child's recommended dietary allowance and school breakfast provides 1/4 of the recommended daily allowance of calories, protein, fat, calcium, iron, vitamin A, vitamin C, sodium, and fiber.
