Science Fair

Late winter each year, Bay View hosts its annual Science Fair. All students, K-5, are invited to participate. Fifth grade teacher Renee Golder is the Bay View staff lead. An information and question meeting will be held in December. Applications describing prospective science projects, and also saying who will be doing the project (or naming the team for group projects), are due in December. The Bay View science fair generally takes place in January.

Ten students or project groups from the Bay View Science Fair are invited to go on to the County Science fair hosted by the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, held at the County Fairgrounds, generally in March. For exact information on the upcoming County Science Fair, please follow this link. The County Science Fair website also describes application requirements for the Fair.

Science Fair Informational Meeting

Each year an optional parent/student information night is held at Bay View. Come see County award winners talk about their past projects, learn the guidelines for the Bay View Science Fair and get your questions answered by Ms. Golder.

Look in Monday Folders for information on upcoming dates for the Informational Meeting, registration deadlines and the Bay View Science Fair.
